Sustainable Building Made Easy
geothermal systems with no upfront costs

What is Geothermal Heating & Cooling?

Geothermal systems are a reliable, proven technology for heating and cooling, having been used for over 50 years in the U.S. and around the world.  In countries like Sweden and others, over 75% of new homes include geothermal systems.  Using geothermal to control the temperature of living spaces dates back to cave-dwelling and was even used in Roman architecture. The way that a geothermal system works is quite simple. The temperature a few feet below the earth’s surface is a constant 50 - 60 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the entire year, in every climate zone.  This earth’s temperature is warmer than the air in the winter and cooler in the summer.  A geothermal system simply transfers this heat from the earth into the home or vice versa.  In the winter, the earth’s warmer temperature is transferred into homes and buildings to warm them, and in the summer the system transfers the heat from the building back into the ground to cool the building.

What Homeowners Are Saying

Craig J.

“With geothermal, the temperature of our house is far more comfortable and simply maintains a constant temperature. It is cooler in the summer and much warmer in the winter.”

-Chattahoochee Hills, GA

Jamie A.

“Our geothermal system runs on power from our solar panels, which gives us a completely independent, self-contained system for heating and cooling and even hot water.”

-Kelowna, BC

Kris C.

“We no longer worry about the possible effects of burning gas and dangers of carbon monoxide.”

Nick P.

“Orca’s geothermal system allows us to get the maximum use of our outdoor living area and not have the annoying noise of an outdoor air conditioning unit. We use our outdoor living area all the time and the air conditioning unit would have been right in this area.”

-Victoria, BC

Travis D.

“We love using geothermal to Heat and cool our home as it decreases our carbon footprint and makes our house more sustainable.  With Orca, we were able to get geothermal with no additional cost to the house.

 How Orca Helps Developers

Orca Energy and its parent company, GeoTility have been installing and operating geothermal HVAC systems for over 30 years, giving you the confidence that we know geothermal!  We have our own engineering, design and construction crews, complete with drilling rigs and other equipment.  This makes us a single point of contact and allows us to maintain tight control over the entire design and construction process from start to finish.

Developers and builders are having increasingly more strict environmental and sustainability requirements put on their projects.  Geothermal systems are one of the most effective ways to meet many of these requirements.  Orca will work with you to ensure that your project gets the maximum benefit for meeting these new standards.

The best part about Orca’s geothermal systems is that there is no cost to developers or builders!  Orca simply charges a monthly fee for the use of Orca’s heating and cooling services, just like any other utility charge.

What Developers & Builders Are Saying

Having GeoTiliy – Terrasource involved at the very launch of Wilden back in 2003 allowed us to showcase how Geothermal heating and cooling could not only benefit our Buyers comfort in their new home but also display our responsibility and stewardship to the environment which has become Wilden’s hallmark after all these years.

Brent Couves,
Vice President  - Sales Manager, Wilden Master Planned Community

We have been working with the GeoTility -  Terrasource – Orca Group for more than 20 years and have successfully integrated geothermal systems into hundreds of SFR and multi-family units.

Their industry-leading vertically integrated model including engineering, construction, project management & utility services has allowed us to deliver all the benefits of geothermal to our clients without the upfront capital costs.

— Glenn Fawdry
Award-Winning Builder, Fawdry Homes

These single-family homes are built to such a high standard they’ve been rated as the most energy-efficient ever built by Bozzuto. This is the most earth – friendly and economical heating and cooling technology in the world, Sage is the first Bozzuto home community to have geothermal systems as part of the standard construction, it is yet another example of how Buzzoto places environmental accountability high on their list of priorities. Orca, successfully provided all the geothermal infrastructure as part of their utility service.

Orca – Terrasource was very easy to work with.  They understand the production building process and were able to integrate their construction with our production schedule in a way that did not impact our process or schedule.  They were very professional and articulate and really know geothermal.

— Mike Cooper,
Development Manager, Western Construction

In today’s environmental conscious world, it is critical that we provide features for buyers that assure them that they are contributing to the solution for global warming and de-carbonization by their home choice.  Orca – Terrasource’s  geothermal service is a great technology and home feature to offer to buyers, and best of all, Orca – Terrasource provided this with no additional cost.

— Dave Coombs,
Developer & Builder, Candence at the Lakes Development

Having geothermal gave our project a competitive advantage and definitely helped us exceed our sales targets.
